Victorian milk glass hobnail ball newell finial with brass collar and steel pipe

wonderful looking Victorian milk glass hobnail Newel Post finial.
measures 3 3/4" in diameter at ball, 5" tall from top of brass collar which measures 1 7/8" tall, giving a total height of 6 7/8" in height on top of Newel, unless you sink it in with the brass.
total length with pipe is 14", so when mounted would be quite the immovable object, very sturdy.
ball has a nice hefty feel in the hand, as can be seen in the 2nd and 3rd photos.
appears to be an old 4 part mold piece, with a hand applied small cap, which isn't quite centered.
weighs 1 lb, 9 oz. with iron pipe and brass collar.
