Example: a 1000-lb horse should receive 1.0 pounds of Safe-Guard® 0.5% in a ONE (1) DAY treatment. For ascarids, the recommended dose is 10 mg Fenbendazole per kg body weight (4.54 mg fenbendazole per pound) in a ONE (1) DAY treatment. Example: a 1000-lb horse should receive 2.0 pounds of Safe-Guard® 0.5% in a ONE (1) DAY treatment. All horses must be eating normally to ensure that each animal consumes an adequate amount of medicated feed. Regular deworming at intervals of 6 to 8 weeks may be required due to the possibility of reinfection. Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment, and control of parasitism. SWINE - Growing Pigs, Gilts, Pregnant Sows, and Boars: 9 mg active drug ingredient Fenbendazole per kg body weight (4.08 mg Fenbendazole per pound) to be fed as the sole ration over a period of 3 to 12 days. Example: a 200 lb. pig consuming 8 lbs. of feed per day should receive 1.92 ounces of Safe-Guard® 0.5% each day for three (3) days. No prior withdrawal of feed or water necessary. GROWING TURKEYS: 14.5 grams active drug ingredient Fenbendazole/ ton of feed, to be fed as the sole ration for 6 days. Example: 1 lb. of Safe-Guard® 0.5% should be mixed into 313 pounds of feed, to be fed as the sole ration to growing turkeys for 6 consecutive days. No Prior withdrawal of feed or water necessary. Growing turkey feeds containing Safe-Guard® 0.5% can be feed pelleted or as a meal.
