RARE KEY Scott #2115b WIDE & TALL Block Tag 2018 PSE Cert XF-S 95 MNH, Cat 5

This is an auction for
2
Plate number strips of 5:  Scott #2115 Plate # 2 and the RARE 2115b Plate # 2, the Flag over Capitol Dome 22c Regular issue of 1985. Scott #2115 is the "regular" variety and has Wide Block tagging (19mm x 21.5mm). Scott 2115b is the scarce Wide and Tall Block tagging variety (19.5mm x 23mm).
The 2115b has an accompanying PSE certificate number 01343390 dated 3/14/2018 and states: "Grade XF-S 95, Mint OGnh-it is genuine unused, o.g., never hinged, coil Plate No. 2 strip of five."
The 2021 Scott catalogue has a note about this under its listing for 2115: "No. 2115 plate number 2 exists with block tagging similar to that found on 2115b. Plate Number 2 was used only on the B Press and could not be used  on either the C or D presses. The similar tagging is an anomaly, and specialists consider it to have been caused by excessive anvil roller pressure on the B Press tagging mat, resulting in a tagging  squeeze."
2021 Scott Catalog values for 2115 is .00 and for the 2115b
in the grade of VF 80
is 5.00. The latter value is listed in italics reflecting infrequent sales.
