    PROPER APPLICATION OF DEHORNING PASTE
    apply as soon as horn can be felt
    remove hair on and around horn
    use wood applicator to apply a quarter size amount of paste, once only
    IN CALVES 6 TO 8 WEEKS:
    remove the hair where horn has started to grow
    roughen 1/4 quarter inch ring with small scrapper or file
    apply thin layer of paste around top and bottom of horn, once only
