DeMille originally purchased the treatment in 1935 but wouldn't begin filming until a decade later. The resulting film was a massive hit, DeMille's biggest success since his 1923 classic "The Ten Commandments." Winner of two Academy Awards and nominated for two more.
Set in the Middle East, shot on location in California, Algeria and Morocco.
