  • Condition: Great condition for age. No chips or cracks, some signs of wear. Pinhead size fleabite in clear glass base of piece. Very small area of wear in white outer glass casing. Some bubble inclusions inside piece. All are pictured in photos, see them for details. Glass portion of newel is 5"L x 3"W. Threaded metal (bronze, brass?) section is 2 5/8"L x 1 1/2"W. Egg shaped glass newel head is cased white glass, cut to clear in long ovular windows. The reflective effect is quite stunning. Also, view from the top of the newel is a lovely starburst. No manufacturer markings observed. Acquired from an estate that listed this as 1890's era, but cannot confirm.
